Why Original Composition Still Matters
But abundance comes with a cost: a loss of distinction. When music is selected from an infinite pool, it no longer belongs to its context. That which is infinitely abundant inevitably loses its value.
My composition process begins from the opposite premise. It assumes that a film, a brand, or any creative project is specific – and therefore requires music that could not exist anywhere else. Original music can respond directly to a narrative, a visual, or a brand’s character. Every note, every pause, and every texture is chosen intentionally, not drawn from a template. The result is music that feels personal, and that is designed specifically for its context.
Beyond practical considerations, original composition adds something less tangible: authenticity. Audiences can sense when a project has been crafted with intention, and music is often the first emotional bridge they encounter. In that sense, composition is not just about sound, but about the identity and perspective the composer brings with it.
Choosing to work with a composer is a commitment to originality, to nuance, and to a kind of musical storytelling that cannot be replicated or faked. If this approach resonates with you, you’re welcome to reach out to discuss your project and see if it’s a good fit.
