Working With A Composer: What To Expect

We begin with a conversation to understand your vision and the goals of your project. This stage is less about technical details and more about inspiration – the feeling, atmosphere, or story you want the music to convey.

From there, the work moves into composition. I often develop ideas iteratively, sharing sketches and excerpts along the way. This allows the music to evolve in dialogue with your project, rather than in isolation.

Finally, once the composition is complete, we can explore performance or recording options if desired. Throughout the process, the goal remains simple: to create music that feels authentic, intentional, and seamlessly integrated with your project.

My Approach

I focus on:

• Composing original music
• Defining a clear musical language
• Making final artistic decisions within the agreed scope

I do not:

• Work from reference tracks as templates to imitate (unless this is a specific requirement discussed in advance)
• Provide technical audio services such as mixing, mastering, or post-production.

Who Is This For

• You value originality and want music written specifically for your project
• You see music as an integral part of storytelling, identity, or atmosphere
• You’re open to collaboration and thoughtful dialogue throughout the creative process
• You’re looking for music that feels intentional rather than generic
• You’re comfortable investing time and care into a considered creative result

Who Is This Not For

• You need music immediately or on extremely tight turnaround times
• You’re looking for stock music or pre-made templates
• Music is a last-minute addition rather than a considered element of the project
• You want to fully outsource creative decisions without conversation
• You’re primarily focused on speed or cost over depth and specificity

Working with a composer is about more than hiring someone to “write notes.” It’s about shaping an experience – and together, crafting something that resonates. If you’d like to explore a collaboration, feel free to get in touch and share a bit about your project.
